The Role

• You will train groups of between 8-14 students in salon management techniques.
• Course content includes business planning, team leadership, customer service, marketing strategies, inventory management, and financial planning.
• Working to specific lesson plans, you will deliver practical, ‘hands-on’ salon management training and ensure students gain a full understanding of running and managing a successful salon.
• You will possess the ability to adapt your training techniques to accommodate differing learning styles.
• You will assist students by imparting industry knowledge and experience in regard to operational best practices, as well as recommended tools and strategies.
• Commission-based upselling is available, giving Trainers the opportunity to increase earnings substantially.

Opportunities

• Part-time opportunities of 1-2 weeks per month available for those wishing to work more locally.

Role responsibilities:

• All colour services: root touch-up, full colour, highlights/balayage, toning/glossing (corrections if confident).
• Hair styling: blow-dry, waves, etc.
• Hair cutting: trims, shape refresh, fringe, long layers.
• Hair treatments: scalp & hair wellness rituals, masks, restorative treatments (training provided).
• Client consultations: assess hair history/condition, agree goal + maintenance plan.
• Accurate colour mixing + formula records (timing/technique notes).
• Luxury-standard application + polished finishing.
• Hair integrity first (correct developer choice, bond protection when needed).
• Recommend home care + in-salon treatments.
• Hygiene/health & safety; clean workstation.
• Communicate timing with reception; punctual and client-focused.

Requirements:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience in hair colouring (salon experience).
• Strong teamwork skills and ability to collaborate smoothly.
• High customer service standards (premium client communication).
• Confident, calm, and able to work under pressure / in a fast-paced environment.

• Enquiries: To respond to Home Spa and Pamper Party enquiries to upsell/convert to a booking.
• Bookings: To co-ordinate and organise bookings using the Glo booking system. This includes liaising with clients on payment, advising on treatment choices, arranging appointment schedules, health consultations, communicating with the client before, during and after the booking, and troubleshooting any issues that may arise.
• Therapists: To select and allocate suitable therapist/s to bookings and recruit therapists when necessary, and to communicate with therapists throughout all bookings.
• Recruit new therapists/trainers as required for Glo's pamper party and spa offering.
• Nurture existing clients and upsell/expand Glo's service offering where possible.
• Familiarise yourself with Glo's competition and consider service innovation for Glo.
• Stay up to date and well informed on key trends for spa therapies and the beauty/wellness industry in general terms.
• On call phone cover (out of hours for emergencies) equating to approx. 1 weekend a month organised on a shift pattern shared between the rest of the team.
• Support the management team with business development in the pamper party and mobile spa sector.

Essential Experience:

• Solid administrative experience.
• Solid understanding of beauty, complementary health, wellbeing, and emerging beauty and wellness trends/services.
• Sales experience.
• Understanding of how Glo's services are experienced on a mobile basis.
• People management skills (in terms of getting the best from Glo's therapists).
• Excellent time management and prioritisation skills – the role involves juggling lots of different tasks at once and reprioritising throughout the day as new enquiries, bookings and therapist changes come in.
• Excellent communication skills.
